The Health Visiting Service

Our health visitors can support and advise you on:

* The health and well-being of a new baby or pre-school child

* Becoming a new family

* Emotional well-being

* Staying healthy and living a healthy lifestyle

We have a team of health visitors attached to the practice.

Health visitors are qualified nurses who have had special training in child health, health promotion and health education. Health visitors work to promote a health lifestyle for you and your family. Health visitors work closely with GP's, midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurses, Social workers and other local agencies to promote a healthy community for all.

BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT GROUP

A breastfeeding support group is held at Long Eaton Health Centre every Monday 09.45-11.15am
A midwife and health visitor are available for support and advice

BABES AND BUMPS

A group for teenage parents and pregnant teenagers is held every Thursday 10.30am-12noon at Long Eaton Family Support Centre, Lime Terrace, Long Eaton.

LEAPFROGS & SANDIACRE SUNSHINE GROUPS

These are groups, which are run by parents with the support of a local health visitor and family support worker. A chance to meet new friends and a safe place for babies and children to play

BABY MASSAGE courses are available at Long Eaton Health Centre, Midland Street, Long Eaton.
Classes run for five one and a half hour sessions and the cost of the course is minimal.
